At Upstream Rebellion, our mission is to honor the rich tradition of bluegrass music while building a new sense of community through sound.

Rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina, we’re a group of college musicians driven by a deep respect for Appalachian heritage and a passion for playing music that brings people together. We believe bluegrass is more than a genre — it’s a shared experience, passed down and reimagined with every note.

Whether we’re picking on a festival stage, a local front porch, or a college green, our goal is to carry this tradition forward with heart, honesty, and high energy — creating spaces where everyone feels like part of the family.
